Who are these gamers with slippery fingers? We gotta help them out!
Complete rip-off of Wolf Game's Apple Shooter and especially Gibbets. I'm fairly certain some graphics from the latter game were directly used in this even, like the arrow amount display. I'm only giving two stars from the fact you at least made your own levels.
Most people don't know it, but this is one of the most critically-praised free internet game by professional reviewers, like it has its own Wikipedia page, along with having been nominated for and winning multiple awards for best free indie game of '08, and I even remember Gameinformer mentioning it in I believe a 2009 issue that featured an article about the uprising of independent developers and their creations. And by all means does it deserve the acclaim, what with seemlessly combining free-running smoother than the Fancy Pants Adventure series (I actually think it rivals Outland, a console game, which has the smoothest movement I've experienced in a 2D platformer) beside a plot that is reminiscent of the humor and atmosphere of Portal. Simply put it is definitely a classic in my books.
The fact this game finally released three years after the first without much indication of its existence beforehand is death-defying. And even after so long it perfectly accomplishes what made the first so popular and then some, which is why I think it's a monstar of a sequel.
Deathink you do realize you'll obviously now have to do a game like this for the other three seasonal pixel posters Pox made right? You can't just NOT do it after this awesome beginning.
:D maybe...
Amazing game and quite possibly my favorite racer on the internet, but why'd it take you more than a year to submit it on Newgrounds?
Hey you know the Soul Driver history, don't you ? ;)
One year ago, I haven't been able to release the game on Newgrounds, due to code issues. So, as Newgrouds evolved since, I decided to make it work !
Fun game for about thirteen of the sixteen fights, then it kind of degrades into an unpredictable battle of trying to kill the ranged people as fast as possible. Also, you earn so many coins yet can only spend it on resetting skills and buying new classes. There should be more things to spend them on. Trying out different classes to find a preferred family setup is troublesome too considering you can't replay levels. Overall this is a decent turn-based time-sinker complimented by your ever-recognizable and eye pleasing visuals, along with music that not only doesn't make me want to instantly find the mute button, but is pretty decent in its own rights. Only other minor quips I have are that the game is extremely short with next to no replay value, and the sound effects leave something to be desired. Seriously, that sounded nothing like what I expected to hear from a kid getting stampeded by a vengeful killer lawnmower!
Hey, my keyboard stopped screwing up for once! At first there was still a lot of key input lag, but it miraculously vanished and I was finally able to complete the game after so many rage quits, at 100% of course. Very fun game, along with it being original too. If you make a sequel you should make more of the objects interactive, like the basketball. Maybe even add some minigames to a few items?
Great to hear. A sequel just might be in the works...
Yes, the game is very fun, but involves a bit of luck with how the enemies spawn and if you just happen to be moving in the right way to avoid them. Also it only mainly involves the 'never stop moving away from enemies and never let go of the fire button' maneuver that works most of the time and turns the difficulty into kind of an artificial, more-or-less there sort of form, on normal at least. And here's some trivia I think is interesting: while this game has a 4.05 rating here, it has a measly 3.26 rating on Kongregate, though both versions have around the same amount of plays and the game was even sponsored by Kong.
Haha, I gave up trying to figure out what kind of game Kong likes a while ago. ^^ Though, I think for the most part, they like easy games.
Just needs a Tea Edition
If this was more reminiscent of that grocery minigame in Warioware where you have to rotate an object so that the bar code can be read by the scanner I think I could play non-stop. Really, that mini-game was addicting as Fruit Ninja and the like. As it is right now it's simply mundane tedium. Fun mundane tedium.
Streetlights are no guarantee from assassins in the dark. You are one false move from losing everything you are! Sat along a busy wall of senses, it's a smoke screen. With slight trepidation, it must have eluded your memory...
